Brigadier General of the Government Protection Bureau (equivalent to the American Secret Service). From 2007 to 2012, he served as the head of this organization.

He began his service to the state in 1991 and was responsible for, among other things, the personal protection of President Aleksander Kwaśniewski.

He participated in the preparation and security of the pilgrimages of Pope John Paul II in Poland.

He established cooperation with the most important security services in the world. In 2011, he led the signing of a letter of intent between Polish special services and the American US Secret Service and the Diplomatic Security Service under the US Department of State.

He was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit for his services to the country.

Currently, he runs Black Falcon Ltd., which, among other things, trains foreign formations such as the Police or the Security Guard of the Sultan of Oman.

Since 1997 he gained much expertise participating in numerous NATO Committees. Among others he attended in 2012 General and Ambassador Course at NATO Defence Colege in Rome.

He served for 28 years at senior executive positions in the Ministry of National Defenseof Poland. Currently he is an adjunct professor at University of Wrocław and vice president of Poland - based Stratpoints Foundation.

Member of Board of Advisors of different organizations. Deeply engaged in diplomacy, international business affairs and intelligence analysis. His experience includes an extensive work in military strategic planning, comprising multinational programs.

He is a speaker on current European issues and professional intelligence matters at Polish and international media as well as different academies and collegesto include Daniel Morgan Academy in Washington DC and Baltic Defense College in Tartu (Estonia). BG J. Stróżyk works as a consultant for various Polish companies supportingclients in international business and government affairs efforts.

On 6 November 2006, Bentégeat took up the position of Chairman of the European Union Military Committee by appointment of the European Council. His term ended on 6 November 2009, when he was succeeded by Håkan Syrén.

After 38 years of service, Lieutenant-Colonel (GS) Xavier Raedts retired in 2017.His active military career started in 1985 when, having fulfilled the officer's training course, he opted for the Engineer corps.

After having held various functions within a Combat engineer battalion, he was put in charge of the NBC training (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical warfare) at the Land Component NBC Training centre, a unit of which he took command in 1994.

A few years later, he was assigned to the Operations planning cell of the General Staff and thereafter was appointed as the military assistant to the Assistant Chief of Staff Operations and Training.

After being admitted to the General Staff course at the Belgian Defense college, he joined the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense as Operations officer.

He has been awarded many Polish and foreign orders and decorations, including the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Gold Medal for Merit to National Defense, the US Legion of Merit, and the Canadian Cross of Merit.
